Rainbow Songs Foundation
Board of Directors
Rainbow Songs Foundation (RSF) provides free interactive music programs to children and families living in shelters and government-supported housing across the GTA. Our goal is to nurture young families through music. Our music programs include parent-toddler music classes, music therapy for young mothers, and music lessons for school-age children. To date, RSF has partnered with 19 different shelters, bringing the joy of music to more than 2,500 youth across the Greater Toronto Area. Learn more at rainbowsongsfoundation.org.
About the RSF Board of Directors
As a small but mighty charity, RSF is driven by the passion and expertise of our Board of Directors. In conjunction with the RSF Foundation Director, the RSF Board of Directors oversees all fundraising, communications, and program development. The Board of Directors also develops our annual strategic plan/ budget, and oversees the governance of the organization.
As a member of the RSF Board of Directors, you will be expected to:
Support the vision and mission of RSF, to actively participate in promoting our goals
Attend board meetings (on alternate months, 6 meetings per year) held virtually.
Contribute 6-8 hours per month for additional subcommittee meetings and tasks
Govern the affairs of the organization on behalf of its members.
Current Vacancies
Rainbow Songs Foundation is seeking 1 (one) individual to join our volunteer Board of Directors as Treasurer. While we are specifically looking for candidates that align with the characteristics below, no prior experience on a Board of Directors is required.
Treasurer Role Requirements
A solid understanding of accounting and bookkeeping practices in The Province of Ontario
Experience with budgeting for businesses or non-profits
Proficiency with financial modeling and forecasting
A solid understanding of/willingness to learn financial reporting requirements for non-profits
A firm commitment to RSF’s mission of providing inclusive music education and access to music therapy
Experience with Quick Books would be a definite asset
